Aimee Long

As soon as Aimee moved to London she fell in love with the fitness scene - she attended endless classes, gained an array of qualifications and finally took the plunge and started teaching!

What got you interested in fitness in the first place?

I have always been interested in fitness from a really young age and I could probably swim before I could walk. I always wanted to be active when I was younger, whether it was learning how to windsurf or being a part of athletics. That passion didn’t stop when I moved to the city. London was completely different from where I grew up and the fitness scene was sociable, fun and something I wanted to be a part of. I threw myself into all things fitness - became a class addicted and decided it was something I wanted to pursue further as a career.

Who inspires you?

There are so many people in my life that inspire me, looking away from fitness I’d say my father, in particular my father is one of my biggest inspirations. He has instilled such a great work ethic into me, having seen him work so hard on his own business it has driven me to want to achieve the same. I find inspiration in many different areas, but in terms of fitness I love people who are willing to try new things, step out of the comfort zone and still put in their 100 percent. It can be scary trying to get into a healthy lifestyle, going to classes alone or even knowing your fitness levels aren’t going to be the same as someone else who might also be taking the class - these people inspire me the most, they make me want to make my classes even more enjoyable, motivate and make sure I also follow by their example.

Why did you choose to teach at PBB?

I had seen PBB all over social media, it was a concept that looked fun and exciting, but was also something very different from what I had done before, which is why I wanted to try and master it!

Where did you study fitness and health?

I studied at my personal training qualification F.I.E to level 3 and furthered my studies with a level 4 focus on obesity and diabetes management and level 5 life coaching. I am always looking to further my knowledge and continually look to take on new courses, but also learn so much from other trainers!

How do you stay motivated?

Going to other classes, being surrounded by other trainers and their energy keeps me motivated. I love living in London and feel the buzz keeps you active and motivated.

Which classes do you teach at PBB?

I teach Dynamic Pilates, Boxerina, Hot Barre, PBB Signature and Barre-Flow
